SHAKESPEARE ALOUD

BEST OF OCCUPY BOSTON

This is a video I created to feature the highlights of these three scenes late in Taming of the Shrew shot in the midst of the Occupy Boston protest rally. There’s an amazing rendition here of “The quality of mercy is not strained” from Merchant of Venice, and the same guy starts off with a bit of Romeo & Juliet. People know this stuff – I feel like some Shakespeare, even if it’s only “To be…” is in all of us. It just comes out of people sometime, and I’m so excited that some of this is being captured as a part of these videos. It was a wonderful vibe down there in Dewey Square where the protesters live, and where the march ended. Remarkable peaceful activism. Check out the clip!
