SHAKESPEARE ALOUD

Titus Andronicus Act IV, Scene 1 – Christmas Eve, with ‘Twas Night Before Christmas!

Ok so this is a BIG TREAT – we take a break from our regularly scheduled programming to read ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas, which my father used to read for us, on Christmas Eve before bed. It is a lovely poem and each time I hear or read it I remember how much I enjoy it.

And yet as usual, it has NOTHING to do with Titus. Or rather, dear readers, I would LOVE a series of posts that explain why it’s the absolute PERFECT compliment to this scene. It’s a short one, that follows the Christmas trope, but so, so, utterly foreign…

Merry Titus everyone!
